Today was a difficult day. I got Josiah ready and off to the bus on time. He walks on his own. Then got Elee to the bus stop shortly after that only to find that we were "late again". The bus driver pointed to his watch and I showed him my watch to show that I wasn't late. It's a new bus driver and he now has to make two more stops in two other small villages. So now I have to get there earlier. Cried a couple times. I miss my family.
I changed the strings on my guitar before picking Elee up from the bus stop. Elee seemed to have a better day today.
Josiah said he did some coloring in his german language class. He has the class now from Mon-Fri at 8am. I'm glad he is in this class.
Still haven't talked with Richie. Hopefully I can get ahold of him tonight. Luna is sleeping in my bed again tonight. She moves around a bit, but I slept much better knowing she was there next to me. And I had someone to snuggle up with.

September 7th (Tuesday)
Richie left for the States this morning for work. So it's just me and the kidos until Saturday. I hate being by myself at night. I have Luna in my bed so hopefully that will help. She's been getting up in the middle of the night so at least this way I won't have to go upstairs.
Josiah thought he had German class after school like he does on Monday's so he missed his bus. A teacher called me and told me he was going to take the next one. If I were Josiah, I would be confused too. I don't know why they think that have a changing schedule would have a positive impact on kids. I really miss their Montessori school.
Off to bed. I hope I can sleep. Please pray for me this week. :)

September 6th (Monday)
Today was a long day. Richie had today off of work for Labor Day weekend. We went to Josiah's school where Elee is supposed to have German class but we were able to get out of it for now. Otherwise, I'd have to take Elee everyday (where there are no ramps for strollers and a lot a lot a lot of steps) and wait an hour with Luna and Pace and then take Elee to his Kindergarten class in another city. That would not be fun. So they said we can wait and see how he does in Kindergarten. I really hope he will pick up the language.
After that we went to the Rathaus (Townhall) and then to a bakery. Then we took Elee to school. I was supposed to have a meeting with the head of the school but she was out ill. So I talked with Elee's teacher a little bit. Apparantly he's having a hard time adjusting. He gets really angry and gets rough with the kids in his class. I peaked in on him and he was sitting in a corner by himself with a sad look on his face and just twirling a toy around. In kindergarten in Germany, they only spiel (play) and they don't have 'works' like in the Montessori school. It is really chaotic in his class here and I don't think that helps. I think it's good for him to have the structure of the Montessori school while still being able to have the freedom of choosing a work to do. I just felt so bad for him after seeing him in his class. He comes home some days and will tell me that kids are picking on him at the playground and throwing sand at him. Or they say 'americanicsh' or something like that. I walked to the bus stop today to pick him up (just me cuz richie was home with luna and pace). He got out of the van and was just so sad and had his head slumped over. I started crying and just gave him a big hug. This is harder than I thought it would be.
Richie flew a kite with the boys for a bit and then I went to a Dr. appointment today in the city. My friend recommended him. So I went there so I could get a refill of my migraine medicine. Thankfully he gave me a prescription. Yay!
After dinner (pork chops on the grill.....our first time using it), I went to German class in Taunnesstein (20 minutes away). Only to find out that the teacher left early cuz no one showed. I think she has her times mixed up. I will have to call the school tomorrow. It made me so frustrated that I started crying like a baby. Elee's not the only one having a hard time adjusting. :)
Pace REALLY likes sweet potatoes. We've only given him rice/oatmeal baby cereal. Tonight was the first night for him to try something else and he loved it!

Sept 5th (Sunday)
Went to a Knippe (Knippe~ an old priest who had a natural method for healing) 'foot bath' this morning with Richie. It's in the middle of a forest. There's a little pool with a rail that you walk around three times. Then you walk around the outside of the pool three times and repeat. The water is super cold and it's supposed to be good for circulation. Richie and I did that before we came home. It was relaxing. This is also something that I'd like to take people to do when they come to visit. You get a sense of the German culture for sure.
We went to our friend, Selma's, for lunch. It was a great time. Then we went to church afterwards. After that we went to the commissary for some groceries so that we'd have stuff for the week.

Sept 4th, 2010 (Saturday)
Today is mine and Richie's 11th anniversary. Josie came over at 2pm to watch Josiah, Elee, and Luna. We took Pace with us. We stayed at The Crowne Plaza in downtown Wiesbaden overnight. We walked around and then got dinner at Wikinger. It was the BEST meal I had in a long time. We actually got to talk and just feed ourselves and the food was great! We both got steaks to cook on a stone that they brought to the table. It was awesome to cook our own steaks the way we wanted them. If anyone comes to visit us, that is where I want to take them.
September 3rd, 2010 (Friday)
Went on a crazy long walk tonight in the fields by our house. The weeds were to our knees and I kept worrying about ticks. Richie would say, "okay, Maggie from Mt. Clemens". We followed it down near a small stream and then got lost. It was getting dark and there was absolutely no one around. Richie had Pace in the pack and then was pushing Luna in our Burley bike trailer. We found a couple different species of mushrooms. Some that looked like 'corn on the cob' as the boys would say, and some red ones. We found our way back to a road and took the road back home. It was definately an adventure. We got home just before the sun set.

September 1st, 2010 (Wednesday)
We got the van fixed yesterday. Richie took it in to the dealership in the morning and then took the train to work. It's great to have public transportation!
Today was a good day. No headache. Got some laundry done. Made some cookies with the boys. Played the Geetar a bit. Played sone UNO with Elee.
Tonight after dinner we went to the park in our neighboorhood. We played Fusball. Elee, Josiah and I against daddy. I think he won, although we did score a few goals.
President Obama announced today that Operation Iraqi Freedom is officially over.
