March 24-31st (GREECE TRIP)

March 24th, Andy, Stephy, and baby Benjamin came! We went to bed after packing for our trip to Greece which was early the next morning. We left for Greece on Friday, the 25th and were there for six nights. The weather was great. It was about 60 degrees and the sun was shining. A little cold for beach weather but it was great to play in the sand! The boys of course got into the water and made a fishing pole. They didn't have a hook, but they had fun playing for hours.

Greeks really love their Nescafe! That's their drink of choice there. If you go out for coffee, you'll see them with their Nescafe Frappe (cold coffee with ice and milk or sugar and lots of foam).

We got to see some old ruins and see the beautiful countryside of Kos, Greece. One thing we noticed were all the goats! There were so many goats just roaming around the mountains (a LOT of goats)...probably a huge reason for any grass being torn up and the coast getting a little smaller. Very sad.

We ate Greek salad every day. Stephy and I went to a local supermarket across the hotel apartment ('Elite Apartments') from us and tasted some feta cheese. We tried different kinds and the real feta was made of goats milk. It tasted very.....grassy, or some might say, like butt. I don't mind the taste of goats milk so much. It has a unique flavor and is really good for you. Naturally low in fat. :)

Probably my favorite day was when we went down to the water where the Hot springs were supposed to be. The Springs had dried up (maybe for good or just the time of year that we were there), but the rocky coast was beautiful!!!

The last night we were there, Pace turned 1 year old! Aunt Stephy and Uncle Andy bought two slices of cake from a nearby bakery. Pace went to town on it! they got juice for the kids and also a "1 year" candle. They bought the three older kids whistle pops too. They made it very special!!! I can't believe our baby is a year old already. We're very thankful to God for the year of great health for him and we pray for many more years.
