23 June, (Thursday)

Last night we celebrated Josiah finishing 2nd grade. We watched a new movie 'Tinkerbell' and had icecream and shakes. It was fun!!

Got up at 6am to run this morning. I ran just over 2 miles. Today was a LONG day. All four kids, Pace didn't take his morning nap. Then he took only an hour afternoon nap and Luna didn't nap at all. Niiice! So when Richie came home from work I was ready to get out of the house! I rode my bike to the Bug Muhle (a wine place) down the street. I was really looking forward to some alone time and this old man came up and sat next to me....and started talking. Then I drive home and try getting off the street onto the sidewalk and completely wiped out. No broken bones this time, but tore up palms and a bruised toe. OUCH!!!

Then we had some friends over for dinner and had a nice time. I made a roast. The kids played until 10pm. I'm ready for bed!!!!!

21 June (Tuesday)

My new shoes came in the mail today. I switched from my ever faithful New Balance (have worn NB for 10 years) to Brooks. I ordered this shoe because of the great reviews. I like them, but they seem a bit big. I normally am a size 8.5 and I always order 1/2 size up for running shoes. But these seem extra big. I ran 3.2 miles today after Richie came home. It was a rough run. I'm feeling sore all over. Richie went to play raquet ball tonight. It was nice he went since he hasn't gone in a very long time.

I love checking reviews. I found this site today looking for an anti wrinkle cream.

20 June (Monday)

Saying of the day by Elee: "Do bullfrogs have horns"?

He asked this after Richie told him he heard a bull frog from the other night.

Had a productive day today. I took Pace, Luna, and Elee with me to register the boys for the American school. I had all the paperwork filled out so I could just go and drop it off. Worked nicely! Then I went to the Bus office to sign them up for the bus. It's nice that Luna is potty trained now. Her and Elee both used the potty at the middle school before we left for home. Luna has been wearing panties since sometime last week. It's very cool that she always tells us when she needs to go.

After lunch I called the VA, then filled out the paperwork online to switch my Montgomery GI Bill to the new Post 911 Gi Bill. It will give me 5 more years than the plan I'm currently under, so I will have until 2019 to use my money for college. It took me about two hours to fill out because I was initially filling out the wrong form and called the VA back to ask a question....and then realized I was doing the wrong form. Niiice. Glad I got that taken care of now.

19 June (Sunday) Father's Day!

Father's Day! This morning we went to church. Afterwards we picked up some Indian food from Napoli and brought it home. We laid Luna and Pace down for a nap and then Richie and I laid outside. The sun kept going behind clouds and and then peeking out and then it started raining with the sun shining. So Germany. :) We went on a bike ride to the Rhine River. Elee rides without training wheels now and does pretty good. He wore his new helmet for the first time. He really likes it. It has flames on it. We stopped and got eis in Walluf. I haven't uploaded pictures from today yet, but here are some that I just downloaded.

This is what happens when you have a big sister......

Who needs a metal tub and a professional photo studio for pictures when you have a Bidet? Pace climbed in here himself....

18 June (Saturday)

Richie came home yesterday from Atlanta. So glad to have him home. We had dinner with our friends Stephen and Selma last night and it was such a nice night. She's from Turkey and she brought Turkish bread and the best homemade hummus. Conversation is always great!

I went running today and ran 3 miles. I felt like a real runner today. It could've been the red top I was wearing. Or, it could've been that I finally ran in under 10 minutes miles. It's hard to start running again. I know my times will come down it will just take time. I googled myself the other day and saw my race times from other races and I had 8:45 miles for two 10k's. I hope I can do close to that....even 9:30 for the 1/2 marathon in October.

Today Josiah is having a play date with his friend Julian from school. We are having some friends from Richie's work over for dinner. Tomorrow is Father's Day so Richie gets to pick what we do for the day.

14 June (Tuesday)

Richie is in the States this week. He left yesterday morning and will be back Friday morning. I was able to run (jog really) on Monday before he left. I'm totally diggin' my new Garmin GPS. It tells me how far I've run, time, and I can do laps for every mile to get an average time. I ran three miles and felt good. It was hard because about the first mile it was all uphill. Richie recommended the area that I jogged to and that was too much for me.

We asked the boys last week if they wanted to go to the American school next year or the German school and Elee quickly said, "American school, American school". Then Josiah said said, "which one's cheaper"? We laughed so hard. We told him they were both free. Then he said, "well, then I want to go to the American school to protect my brother". Yeah, I had a little tear-age in my eyes, and Josiah thought he was so cool and funny to get my eyes to well up.

So we are 95% sure on sending them to the American schools for next year. With moving in a couple years, we feel they'll just forget German anyways after they are in the States for a while. I think with them in the American schools it will give them a sense of security, especially Elee starting in the first grade. I'm glad they were part of this decision. And I think next year, Josiah will be able to focus on just his studies, instead of focusing on German. So, we still have to register them, but I know Richie is really for this decision so I want to back him up on it. Even though I'm leaning to send them to the German school.

Luna and I did a 'photo shoot' today. I put light purple eye shadow on her and some light lipstick and she put on a tutu and these cute pants we got her in Israel. She loved modeling them and taking pictures. She is really a princess.

Elee is working on a book with letters and when he is done I told him I'd buy him a new movie. I like working with him because I've been seeing improvement. However, it's really hard to get him motivated to do school work. He really has a difficult time doing it. But, I feel optimistic about him....and I'm excited for the opportunity to invest time into him.

Pace took a huge fall today. He fell off the picnic table outside when Luna grabbed a toy from him. He hit the tile floor and has a huge bruise down the side of his face. OUCH!!!! Poor baby. He is so tough though.

Here are the pictures from the photo shoot!
